If you expect to keep adding cameras, this kit starts big. The Hikvision DS-7616NXI-K2/16P(E) recorder has sixteen PoE ports, and three DS-2CD1383G2-LIUF/SL turret cameras use only three of them, so thirteen are free for later cameras.
The cameras are 8MP (3840 × 2160) PoE units with Smart Hybrid Light, which mixes infrared and white light up to 30m. They detect people and vehicles, use H.265+ compression, have a microphone and speaker for two-way audio, take a microSD card of up to 512GB, and are IP67 rated for outdoor use.
The NVR records cameras up to 16MP, handles 160Mbps incoming and outgoing, and has AcuSense analytics. It has two SATA bays that take drives up to 16TB each, and separate HDMI and VGA outputs. A 4TB drive is already installed in the first bay.
The box holds the recorder, three cameras, three 20m Cat6 patch cables and a 1.5m HDMI lead. Provide a monitor and fixings, then mount the cameras and plug each into a PoE port.
Starting with three cameras and a recorder of this size means later cameras are only a cable and a mounting away, with no change of recorder.

The 3 cameras in the box use 3 of the 16 channels on the recorder. So there are 13 channels left over if you want more cameras later.
Adding cameras later? First make sure the recorder handles their resolution and has enough recording bandwidth, and that a power or PoE port is free for each one.
Around 30 days of footage
There is 4TB of storage in the box.
Recording around the clock in H.265, that holds roughly 30 days of footage. Our sum allows 1 Mbps for each camera of 2MP or less, 2 Mbps for each one above that up to 5MP, and 4 Mbps for each one sharper than 5MP, added together when the cameras are not all the same model. Your own settings, how busy each view is and how much of the drive is usable all change the true number. With motion-only recording, it comes down to how often something moves in view.

One cable to each camera brings it power and picture.
First, look over the box list: it names the power supplies, cables and mounting parts included. Then plan where each camera goes and how long each cable needs to be, because knowing how many cameras you have does not tell you what they will cover. At every spot, check what the lens can see, the lighting, and how exposed the camera will be to the weather.
