CCTV for garages
A garage holds vehicles, tools and often customers’ property, so the first jobs are the forecourt, the doors and the workshop floor. Choose a complete Hikvision kit with a camera for each of those views. We supply the kit; you or your installer fits it.

Not sure how many cameras you need?
Answer three questions and the finder narrows the range to systems that fit your site.
What do you want to keep an eye on?
Your answer only sets how many cameras we begin with. You can change it later on.
1 other answer here has no kit to match, so we have left it out. You can still build that yourself in the kit builder.
A garage or workshop has a forecourt, a door that is often open, tools and stock inside, and sometimes a yard behind. If you are looking for a garage CCTV kit, you want the recorder, cameras, cable and power in one order, and no guessing about what fits what.
The Hikvision 4-channel 5MP kit with four cameras and a 1TB drive is a coax set. It has an iDS-7204HQHI-M1/XT recorder and four DS-2CE78H0T-IT3FS 5MP turret cameras. In the box are four 20m RG59 leads that carry both video and power, an HDMI cable for a monitor, and a 12V 3A power supply with four outputs, so there is nothing more to buy to get it running. The cameras have IP67 housings for use outdoors.
Four cameras can cover the front of the building, the door into the workshop, the inside of the unit and the back. All four recorder channels are used, so for a larger site choose a bigger set from the Turbo HD kits. If you later prefer network cameras, browse IP cameras; they go with a PoE recorder and a PoE switch rather than this coax recorder.
What to check before you order
- Cable distance. Each lead is 20m long. Measure from the camera position to the recorder, and if the run is longer, plan for longer cable.
- Recorder location. The power supply and recorder need a socket and a spot that is dry and tucked away.
- Drive size. One terabyte is included. Garages that stay open late may want more history.
Compare it with the other sets in all Hikvision CCTV kits.
CCTV for garages — common questions
How many cameras does a garage need?
Four cover a small garage: forecourt, front door, workshop floor and back door. A larger site with a yard, parts store or several bays may need eight.
How long should a garage keep CCTV footage?
There is no set period. Keep it only as long as you need it for security, and write that into your policy. The recorder overwrites the oldest footage when the drive is full.
