This set is for longer views. The DS-2CE78U1T-IT3F has EXIR 2.0 infrared reaching 60 metres, so it suits a long garden, a car park or the side of a warehouse where a short-range camera would go dark.
The DS-2CE78U1T-IT3F is an 8MP HD-TVI turret (3840 × 2160) with EXIR 2.0 infrared that reaches 60 metres. It accepts TVI, AHD, CVI and CVBS and its IP67 housing suits indoor or outdoor fixing.
In the box: the 8-channel iDS-7208HUHI-M1/E recorder; 5 Hikvision DS-2CE78U1T-IT3F 4K turret cameras; 5 RG59 BNC video leads of 20m, each with a DC power tail; a 12V 5A power supply with a built-in 8-way splitter; a 1.5m HDMI cable and a 2TB hard drive, already fitted. You provide a monitor with an HDMI input and a place to mount each camera. The recorder takes HDTVI, AHD, CVI, CVBS and IP inputs and records up to 8MP at 8 frames per second, or 5MP at 12, with H.265 Pro+ compression.
Fitting is straightforward. Mount the 5 cameras, run each 20m lead back to the recorder, plug the power tails into the supplied power supply and connect a monitor over HDMI. Check the camera type on the recorder at first set-up, then set the recording schedule.

Adding cameras later? First make sure the recorder handles their resolution and has enough recording bandwidth, and that a power or PoE port is free for each one.
Around 9 days of footage
There is 2TB of storage in the box.
Recording around the clock in H.265, that holds roughly 9 days of footage. Our sum allows 1 Mbps for each camera of 2MP or less, 2 Mbps for each one above that up to 5MP, and 4 Mbps for each one sharper than 5MP, added together when the cameras are not all the same model. Your own settings, how busy each view is and how much of the drive is usable all change the true number. With motion-only recording, it comes down to how often something moves in view.
Coax (HD analogue) system

First, look over the box list: it names the power supplies, cables and mounting parts included. Then plan where each camera goes and how long each cable needs to be, because knowing how many cameras you have does not tell you what they will cover. At every spot, check what the lens can see, the lighting, and how exposed the camera will be to the weather.
