UKVISION 16-Port Gigabit Unmanaged Switch, VLAN and Extend Modes, 32Gbps

This UKVISION switch has sixteen RJ45 ports for IP cameras, NVRs, wireless access points and computers on one network. Each port auto-negotiates 10, 100 or 1000Mbps.

With a switching capacity of up to 32Gbps, it can carry many CCTV video streams alongside ordinary local traffic. MAC address self-learning and automatic ageing manage that traffic without any set-up, and Auto MDI/MDIX means straight or crossover Ethernet cable both work.

A one-key switch on the unit turns on VLAN mode or Extend mode when needed, to isolate ports or help with a longer run. It is not a PoE switch, so cameras need injectors, adapters or a separate PoE unit.

The metal housing is 11 inches wide and suits network cabinets, CCTV equipment racks, offices and small business spaces. Installation is plug and play, with no software and no login.

Count the devices you plan to connect, including the recorder and a viewing PC, and keep a few ports spare for future cameras. If your cameras need power from the switch, look at the PoE models in the same range instead. Ordinary Cat5e or Cat6 patch leads connect every port, so no special cable is needed, and a spare port or two is worth keeping for a future camera.
