The 4 cameras in the box use 4 of the 8 channels on the recorder. So there are 4 channels left over if you want more cameras later.
Adding cameras later? First make sure the recorder handles their resolution and has enough recording bandwidth, and that a power or PoE port is free for each one.

You can open the builder with this kit already loaded, then swap the cameras, pick a bigger drive or choose longer cables. It checks each change for you, so everything you end up with will work together.

Yes, up to 4 more IP cameras can plug into the free PoE ports on the DS-7608NXI-K1/8P recorder. Beyond that you would need a PoE switch.
This is a complete PoE kit: the recorder, four cameras, network leads and a 4TB drive that is already fitted, so the cameras plug straight into the recorder, which also powers them. Nothing else needs a power socket near the camera.
DS-2CD1383G2-LIUF/SL is an 8MP 4K turret camera (3840 × 2160) with a built-in microphone and speaker for two-way audio. Smart Hybrid Light combines infrared and white light up to 30 metres, and the camera can flash its light and sound a warning when it detects a person or vehicle.
A microSD slot takes a card of up to 512GB for recording on the camera itself. The housing is IP67 and power comes from the recorder over the network cable.
The DS-7608NXI-K1/8P is an 8-channel AcuSense recorder with eight PoE ports, recording up to 12MP in H.265+ with 4K HDMI output and room for one SATA drive of up to 10TB. The recorder has 8 ports and this kit fills 4, so four more IP cameras can be added later without a PoE switch.
In the box: the recorder, 4 Hikvision DS-2CD1383G2-LIUF/SL cameras, a 1.5m HDMI lead, 4 Cat6 network patch leads of 20m (UKVISION, CCA) and the 4TB hard drive. You provide a monitor with an HDMI input and the fixings for each camera. Compare other sets in the IP PoE kits or the 4 camera kits.

There is 4TB of storage in the box.
Recording around the clock in H.265, that holds roughly 23 days of footage. Our sum allows 1 Mbps for each camera of 2MP or less, 2 Mbps for each one above that up to 5MP, and 4 Mbps for each one sharper than 5MP, added together when the cameras are not all the same model. Your own settings, how busy each view is and how much of the drive is usable all change the true number. With motion-only recording, it comes down to how often something moves in view.

One cable to each camera brings it power and picture.
First, look over the box list: it names the power supplies, cables and mounting parts included. Then plan where each camera goes and how long each cable needs to be, because knowing how many cameras you have does not tell you what they will cover. At every spot, check what the lens can see, the lighting, and how exposed the camera will be to the weather.
