A DVR, the recorder for coax cameras
A coax (HD analogue) camera.
It sends TVI video: check your DVR takes it.
Check your recorder takes 2 MP cameras.
Not sure which recorder you have? A DVR has a row of round twist-on (BNC) camera sockets on the back; an NVR has none.
Starting a new system? See our coax camera kits.
When the spot you need to watch is a long way from the house, a fixed camera struggles. This Hikvision DS-2AE5225TI-A-E is a 2MP Turbo HD PTZ dome that you can steer and zoom from your recorder. Its 4.8 to 120mm lens gives 25x optical zoom, with 16x digital zoom on top.
It pans a full 360° and stores preset positions and patrol routes, so one dome can sweep a long driveway, a yard or a boundary line. Infrared reaches up to 150m, and the housing is rated IP66 for outdoor mounting. Video goes back over BNC as HD-TVI, so it suits a coax Turbo HD system with a free channel.
