A network recorder (NVR)
A network (IP) camera.
Check your recorder takes 4 MP cameras.
Not sure which recorder you have? A DVR has a row of round twist-on (BNC) camera sockets on the back; an NVR has none.
The Hikvision DS-2CD2H45FWD-IZS is a 4MP PoE turret camera with a motorised 2.8–12mm varifocal lens. You set zoom and focus remotely, so you can adjust the picture after mounting to frame exactly the area you want.
The sensor records at 2688 × 1520. Powered-by-DarkFighter low-light performance and infrared up to 30m help at night, and 120 dB true Wide Dynamic Range deals with strong backlight.
It supports human detection, intrusion detection and face detection, and a microSD slot takes up to 128GB of local storage.
The metal housing is IP66 weatherproof and IK10 vandal resistant. Power is by PoE (IEEE 802.3af) or 12V DC. It is a network camera, so it needs a PoE switch or a network recorder port.
The varifocal lens means you do not have to choose a fixed view when you order. Mount the camera, open the picture on a monitor or phone and adjust the zoom until the frame is right. Check the recorder has a free PoE port before you start.
