A network recorder (NVR)
A network (IP) camera.
Check your recorder takes 4 MP cameras.
Not sure which recorder you have? A DVR has a row of round twist-on (BNC) camera sockets on the back; an NVR has none.

The Hikvision DS-2DE4A425IW-DE is a 4MP PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) network camera for adding one movable view to a system you already run. It suits the spot a fixed camera cannot cover: a large yard, a car park or a long boundary line.
Recorder: it is an IP camera, so it connects to a network recorder or a PoE switch on your network and needs one free port. Check that your recorder supports PTZ control for this model before ordering.
Coverage: the 4.8–120mm lens gives 25× optical zoom, with 16× digital zoom on top. It pans 360° continuously and tilts from −5° to 90°, and the sensor records up to 2560 × 1440. It supports intrusion detection, line-crossing detection and smart tracking.
Mounting spot: a PTZ camera watches one place at a time, so mount it where it can see the whole area it has to sweep, such as a corner of a building or a pole at the edge of the yard. The IP66 housing is made for outdoor use, and infrared reaches up to 50m.
