This is a complete Hikvision coax CCTV kit: iDS-7216HQHI-M1/XT, a 16-channel AcuSense DVR, with 11 3K Smart Hybrid Light ColorVu fixed turret cameras and a 6TB hard drive already fitted. It suits a larger property where one recorder should cover every door, window and yard, with five channels left open for later.
The recorder is a 16-channel 5MP 1U H.265 AcuSense DVR. The eleven cameras are 3K Smart Hybrid Light ColorVu fixed turrets, so each one can light a scene with white light as well as infrared.
In the box: the recorder with the 6TB drive installed, 11 x 20m RG59 shotgun leads with BNC video and DC power ends, a 12V 5A power supply with a built-in 8-way splitter, a 12V 3A power supply with a 4-way splitter and a 1.5m High Speed HDMI cable for your monitor. The two power supplies give twelve power outputs for the eleven cameras. You provide a screen, and a network connection if you want to watch remotely.
Fitting follows one pattern: mount each camera, run its lead back to the recorder, push the BNC end into a channel and the power end into a splitter, then connect the monitor. Because the recorder has 16 channels and the kit uses 11, you can add up to five more cameras later without replacing it.

Adding cameras later? First make sure the recorder handles their resolution and has enough recording bandwidth, and that a power or PoE port is free for each one.

Pick a different hard drive
Recording around the clock in H.265, that holds roughly 25 days of footage. Our sum allows 1 Mbps for each camera of 2MP or less, 2 Mbps for each one above that up to 5MP, and 4 Mbps for each one sharper than 5MP, added together when the cameras are not all the same model. Your own settings, how busy each view is and how much of the drive is usable all change the true number. With motion-only recording, it comes down to how often something moves in view.
Coax (HD analogue) system

First, look over the box list: it names the power supplies, cables and mounting parts included. Then plan where each camera goes and how long each cable needs to be, because knowing how many cameras you have does not tell you what they will cover. At every spot, check what the lens can see, the lighting, and how exposed the camera will be to the weather.
