The 4 cameras in the box use 4 of the 8 channels on the recorder. So there are 4 channels left over if you want more cameras later.
Adding cameras later? First make sure the recorder handles their resolution and has enough recording bandwidth, and that a power or PoE port is free for each one.
Your choice
You can open the builder with this kit already loaded, then swap the cameras, pick a bigger drive or choose longer cables. It checks each change for you, so everything you end up with will work together.

Start with four cameras and keep room for more. This kit pairs an 8-channel Hikvision recorder, the DS-7608NXI-K1/8P, with four black DS-2CD1383G2-LIUF/SL turret cameras. Four of the recorder's eight PoE ports are left empty for later additions.
The cameras are 8MP and PoE powered, so there is one network cable per camera. Smart Hybrid Light gives night viewing with infrared or white light, human and vehicle detection filters out false alerts, and H.265+ compression keeps recordings compact. A microphone and speaker give two-way audio, a microSD slot takes up to 512GB, and the IP67 housing is made for outdoors.
The NVR takes up to 80 Mbps of incoming video, supports cameras up to 12MP, offers AcuSense analytics and plays back eight channels together. A 2TB drive is already fitted.
In the box: the recorder, four cameras, four 20m Cat6 patch cables and a 1.5m HDMI cable. Bring a monitor with an HDMI input. Fitting is simple: mount the cameras, run each cable to a PoE port, connect the monitor and set the schedule.
Black cameras blend in on dark brick, timber or render, and the turret shape lets you tilt the lens a little after fixing it, which helps when framing a gate or a doorway.

There is 2TB of storage in the box.
Recording around the clock in H.265, that holds roughly 11 days of footage. Our sum allows 1 Mbps for each camera of 2MP or less, 2 Mbps for each one above that up to 5MP, and 4 Mbps for each one sharper than 5MP, added together when the cameras are not all the same model. Your own settings, how busy each view is and how much of the drive is usable all change the true number. With motion-only recording, it comes down to how often something moves in view.

First, look over the box list: it names the power supplies, cables and mounting parts included. Then plan where each camera goes and how long each cable needs to be, because knowing how many cameras you have does not tell you what they will cover. At every spot, check what the lens can see, the lighting, and how exposed the camera will be to the weather.
