This passive balun joins coax equipment to twisted pair cable. One side is a standard BNC connector for a camera or DVR input. The other is a screw terminal where you clamp the conductors of the UTP cable.
The screw terminal means no soldering is needed in the field, and it gives reliable contact. It needs no power supply. It supports analogue CCTV plus HD-CVI, HD-TVI and AHD formats when used with compatible equipment, over Cat5e or Cat6.
You need one for each end of a run. Check your camera and recorder instructions for the maximum cable length they allow. It suits adding a camera over existing network cable.
