UKVISIONModel UK-SW-8-100-P
Available
The UKVISION UK-SW-8-100-P is an eight port PoE switch for adding IP cameras to a kit that has reached its limit. Eight 10/100Mbps ports deliver power and data, and two uplink ports connect to a recorder, router or another switch.
Each PoE port meets IEEE 802.3af/at and gives up to 30W. The total budget is 65W, so eight small cameras can share it while a few larger ones may not. A digital display shows power use, which helps you balance the load.
For a camera further away than a normal Ethernet run, Extend mode carries data up to 250 metres at reduced bandwidth. VLAN mode isolates ports to reduce congestion in a surveillance network.
All ports negotiate speed and cable type automatically, so ordinary patch leads work without crossovers. The switch is unmanaged and needs no setup.
Choose this model when 100Mbps per port is enough and you want the extra reach. Check each camera's own wattage before ordering, and add up the total so it stays under 65W.
A common use is a small kit where the recorder has run out of PoE ports. Plug the switch's uplink into the recorder's network port, then connect each new camera to a PoE port with a single Ethernet cable. It is a handy way to extend a kit without replacing the recorder.
