UKVISIONModel UK-SW-4-1000-P
Available
The UKVISION UK-SW-4-1000-P gives you four PoE ports and two uplink ports, all at 10/100/1000Mbps. It is for a kit that has run out of recorder sockets, or for a spot with a few cameras and a long cable back to the router.
Each PoE port follows IEEE 802.3af/at and supplies up to 30W, with a total of 65W. The ports will also run ordinary devices that do not need PoE, so a spare port can carry data only. Switching capacity is 12Gbps, forwarding is 8.928Mpps and it holds a 2K MAC address table.
Three modes cover different jobs. Standard mode lets all ports talk to each other. VLAN mode lets the camera ports reach only the uplinks, which cuts broadcast noise. Extend mode carries signals up to 250 metres, but at 10Mbps. A digital display shows live PoE consumption and LEDs show power and link activity on every port.
The housing is metal with a grounding terminal. It runs from 100–240V AC and is meant for indoor use between 0°C and 45°C, at 10% to 90% non-condensing humidity. Cat5 cable or better is needed. The size is 200 × 133 × 44mm.
Nothing needs configuring: connect and it works. It suits homes, offices and small commercial sites. For a new kit it pairs well with a recorder that has no spare PoE sockets: run one cable from the recorder to an uplink and place the cameras where you want them.
